Product Engineer
Istanbul - Turkey
We’re looking for a product-minded engineer: someone who wants to understand who the user is and what problem they have before opening an editor, and who measures success by whether the feature helped, not by whether it shipped.
Our platform helps product, marketing, and research teams understand their customers through AI-moderated interviews, real-time chat, media analysis, and research insights. Our users are researchers and brand teams under real deadlines, and small product details make a big difference to their day.
The way software gets built has changed. With AI coding agents, one engineer can now ship what used to need several people. That makes the hard part less about writing code and more about deciding what is worth building, and fitting it cleanly into a large, growing platform that has to stay reliable for the people who depend on it. That’s this role.
As a Product Engineer, you’ll own features end to end: from understanding the need and shaping the idea with the team, to the React screen and the NestJS service, all the way to production and the numbers that tell us whether it worked.
What You’ll Be Doing
Understand the Problem First - Work closely with our Product, UX, and Research teams, look at how people use the product, and dig into the real need behind each request.
Help Shape What We Build - Work with Product and UX to turn ideas into clear, small, shippable increments. Bring your own suggestions, ask good questions about requirements, and point out when there is a simpler way to solve the problem.
Build Product, End to End - Design and deliver features across our React applications and NestJS microservices, from real-time chat over Socket.io to background jobs on queues, with care for both the user experience and the code behind it.
Own a Large Platform - Work across a monorepo of more than a dozen backend microservices and four React applications. Understand how the pieces fit together, make changes safely in code you didn’t write, and keep the system maintainable and fast as it grows, including refactoring and paying down technical debt.
Build AI Features People Trust - Develop LLM-powered features with OpenAI, Claude, and Gemini, using LangChain and LangGraph, and evaluate them with Langfuse so the output is useful, accurate, and affordable.
Measure What You Ship - Define what success looks like before you build, track usage with PostHog, and use what you learn to decide what to improve next.
Take It to Production - Deploy and run the services you build on AWS (ECS, Lambda, SQS, S3) with AWS CDK, keep our GitHub Actions pipelines healthy, and use OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, and Sentry to catch and fix problems early.
Own Quality and Security - Review AI-generated code with a critical eye, write tests, and follow best practices for authentication and data protection in line with GDPR and ISO 27001.
About You
You’ve built and shipped user-facing products, and you can talk about the impact of what you built, not only the technology.
You start with “why” and “for whom”, and you make sensible scope trade-offs without cutting corners on quality.
You have a good eye for UX and care about the small details that make a product feel right.
You’re comfortable with ambiguity: you can take a vague problem, ask the right questions, and turn it into a plan.
You’re a great communicator: you work closely with product, design, and research colleagues, keep people informed, and explain technical trade-offs in plain language.
You have 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
You have strong, hands-on expertise in TypeScript, React, and Node.js, and you’ve built production services with NestJS or a similar framework.
You’ve worked on a large, long-lived production codebase with many services, and you know how to keep one healthy: clear boundaries, good tests, careful refactoring, and attention to performance.
You’re experienced with microservices, message queues, and real-time systems such as WebSockets, and you’re comfortable with MongoDB, DynamoDB, and Redis.
You’ve built features on top of LLM APIs and understand prompting, streaming, latency, and cost in production.
You have hands-on DevOps experience: you’ve deployed services on AWS, worked with Docker and CI/CD pipelines, and used monitoring tools to keep things running.
You use AI coding tools every day and have a clear view on where they help, where they fail, and how to review their output.
Nice to have:
Experience at a startup or on a small product team where engineers work closely with product and design.
Experience with product analytics or experimentation (PostHog, feature flags, A/B tests).
Background in marketing research, UX research, or consumer insights platforms.
Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, or other agent frameworks, and with LLM observability tools such as Langfuse.
Experience with Google Vertex AI or Gemini, including multimodal (audio, image, and video) models.
Experience with Nx or other monorepo tooling.
Experience with infrastructure as code (AWS CDK or Terraform), ECS, or Kubernetes and Helm.
