Role Overview

We're looking for a talented Frontend-Focused Full Stack Developer to join Bolt Insight as a key member of our growing engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to own the frontend of a genuinely innovative AI-powered platform — building the interfaces through which clients and consumers connect in real time.

You'll be responsible for architecting and delivering intuitive, high-performance UIs, working closely with design, product, and backend engineers to bring complex data and AI capabilities to life. You'll have real ownership over frontend decisions, the autonomy to shape how our technology looks and feels, and the scope to grow with us as we scale.

Responsibilities

Frontend Architecture & Development

• Own the frontend architecture and drive consistency, scalability, and best practices across the UI codebase.

• Build responsive, pixel-perfect, and user-friendly interfaces with React.

• Design and implement scalable component libraries and frontend systems within a monorepo structure.

• Build and maintain real-time UI features.

• Monitor frontend performance and troubleshoot production issues.

Collaboration & Integration

• Collaborate with backend engineers to consume and shape APIs.

• Contribute to backend services using Node.js frameworks when needed.

• Work with design teams to translate wireframes and prototypes into production-ready code.

• Participate in code reviews and champion frontend best practices.

AI-Augmented Development

• Use AI coding assistants (Copilot, Cursor, Claude, etc.) as a natural part of your daily workflow.

• Accelerate coding, debugging, and code review with AI tools.

• Write effective prompts to generate, refactor, or explain code.

• Apply critical review to AI-generated output before shipping.

• Automate repetitive dev tasks — from scaffolding components to writing tests and generating docs.

Innovation & Growth

• Stay current with emerging frontend technologies and AI/ML tools.

• Identify opportunities to improve tooling, processes, and developer experience.

• Contribute to the broader engineering culture through knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Key Deliverables & Performance Metrics

• UI Quality: Deliver interfaces that are fast, accessible, and consistent across the product.

• Component Systems: Build and maintain reusable component libraries that accelerate team velocity.

• Collaboration: Ensure smooth integration between frontend and backend through well-shaped APIs and clear communication.

• Engineering Standards: Uphold code quality, documentation, and best practices across the codebase.

Requirements

Technical Skills

• 4+ years of experience in React and modern frontend development.

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript.

• Experience with modern state management and server-state management patterns.

• Hands-on experience with component libraries and utility-first CSS frameworks.

• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs — consuming and integrating them.

• Familiarity with real-time communication (WebSockets).

• Familiarity with backend development using Node.js frameworks.

• Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases at a working level.

• Experience working in monorepo environments.

• Proficiency with Git version control.

• Comfortable using AI coding assistants as part of daily development workflow.

Nice to Have

• Experience with LLM APIs and AI SDK integrations.

• Hands-on experience building or integrating RAG systems.

• Familiarity with vector databases or agentic frameworks.

• Understanding of prompt engineering and LLM evaluation techniques.

• Experience with embedding models and semantic search.

• Docker and containerisation.

• CI/CD pipelines.

• Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

• Testing frameworks and TDD practices.
